There have been many Physical Theatre companies who have introduced paintin into their choreography to express emotions and within a narrative context. An example of this would be DV8 and their production of Strange Fish, choreographed by Lloyd Newson. H.M.S. focuses on the fields of contemporary dance and theatre performance, most notably physical theatre. Her pieces are based around cultural and sociological contexts such as sexuality, religion and the economy. She felt that the abstract pieces she created would appear aesthetically pleasing on film and she has worked with filmmaker Lisa Viezens. H.M.S. work is original as she did not wish to reinterpret ballets or plays. Most recently she has been looking more into the relationship between painting and movement.

Her performance of NFT DROP looks into the themes of love, segregation and fear of isolation. The use of language enhances the personas of the characters and allows the audience to understand the complex situation on stage or how the performer is feeling. However, the deeper the audience delve into the piece, the more they become aware of the isolation of H.M.S. character and the need she has to be touched affectionately.
